The Evergreen Community Garden, a verdant oasis in the heart of downtown, is thriving amidst the urban hustle and bustle. This green sanctuary, established just two years ago on a previously neglected lot, now features over 50 varieties of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, all meticulously cared for by a dedicated group of volunteers. Project coordinator Maria Gonzales highlighted the garden's role in fostering community bonds and promoting sustainable living. Open daily from dawn until dusk, the garden offers weekly workshops on topics such as composting and organic pest control, drawing residents from all walks of life who come together to learn, share, and cultivate this shared space. As local retiree and volunteer John Matthews put it, "It's amazing how much this little piece of land has brought us together."
